IMA Kuwait conducts an Interfaith Program in continuation of Seerah Campaign “MUHAMMAD (PBUH) – Mercy to the Worlds”.“The life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)” cannot be elaborated in 25 to 30 minutes speech here, however, I will try to outline few aspects of prophet’s life”, said Dr Hassan Taha (Religious teacher and Manager of Ties Centre- Kuwait) addressing to “Interfaith Get Together at Rajdhani Palace Khaitan on Oct 21st, 2022. He raised-up a book in his hand titled “100 most influential people in the history” written by Michael H. Hart who stated that Muhammad was “supremely successful” in both the religious and worldly realms. Further, the speaker enhanced his speech by giving beautiful examples from the Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) describing him as a Mercy to the worlds and entire mankind. The speaker said that one day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saw an old woman carrying her luggage on her head. He took the luggage from her and carried it up to the point where she wanted to go. He questioned the old lady reason of leaving the town. She replied that she heard about a magician named Muhammad (PBUH) in town is preaching a new religion which is against the religion of our forefathers. And she doesn’t want to meet Muhammad (PBUH). While talking they reached their destination, Muhammad (PBUH) put down her bag on the ground and was about to leave The old woman said, “O, kind person! At least tell me your name!” Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) replied with smile, “I am the same person (Muhammad) about whom you were talking about.” The Women was surprised to hear this and said, “O my son! If you are Muhammad PBUH, then the people are wrong, and they are spreading rumors against you. She accepted Islam and returned to her place. Dr Hassan Taha continued speaking on the subject by narrating famous incident took place during “the Prophet’s SAWS Journey to Taif city”. when He visited Ta’if and called on the three leaders of the local (Ta’if) tribes, and invited them to abandon their gross idolatry, to acknowledge the Oneness of God, and to believe in the equality and brotherhood of all men. In return they replied him with mockery and ridicule and set upon him the idlers and the louts of the city. They pelted him with clods and stones, wounded and plastered with blood, Muhammad (PBUH) staggered out of Ta’if. He almost collapsed but a certain gardener took him into his hut, dressed his wounds, and let him rest and recuperated until he felt strong enough to resume his journey across the rough terrain between Ta’if and Makkah. At that moment, Angel Jibra’eel came to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and told him that Allah SWT has sent the angel of mountains to serve you. The angel said, “O Prophet! If you order I will crush people of this city between these two mountains. The Prophet PBUH opted mercy towards them. He was not overcome with rage or hate. Instead of seeking revenge against the people of Taif, he said to Angel, “I rather hope that Allah will raise from among their descendant’s people who will worship Allah the One and will not ascribe partners to Him“. Dr Hassan Taha concluded his speech by praising Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for his Kindness, love, righteousness, being always on straight path etc.…. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is truly the last Messenger of God and Mercy to the Worlds. Dr Mohan Ram (President of UPNRI Forum), an honorable guest speaker in the program, said that he was speechless after hearing Dr Hassan Taha. He continued his talk with thanks to “Indian Muslims Association” (IMA) for inviting him. He appreciated the activities of IMA. He added that though he has not gone through the Glorious Quran, but by attending various programs organized by IMA Kuwait, he learnt a lot about the Islamic / Qur’anic teachings. Further, he asked the audience to enhance such activities to create communal harmony around the world, which is basic teaching of every religion especially Islam. Dr. Imtiaz Nawaz, (Secretary IDF), another respectable Guest speaker, delivered a message of peace and justice by quoting Quranic verse (وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِين). He also mentioned that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the kindest to all Human Beings. Even he was very kind hearted to His closest enemies too. Further, he read out messages from the Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He concluding his speech thanking IMA for inviting him for such an auspicious occasion and spreading message of peace though the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, who is mercy to whole worlds. Mr Christopher Taylor (Chapel to US army in Kuwait) and a Guest of Honor of this interfaith program, thanked IMA for inviting him and spreading the message of peace through these activities. He talked about similarities between Islam and Christianity like having faith in One God, in all His Prophets and commandments. He concluded that obeying the commandments of Prophet, we will strengthen our relationship with God. Mr. K. Ghangadar, the honorable Principal of ICSK Khaitan appreciated the organizers for magnificent gathering and conveying the message of Mercy to the Worlds from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He said he was truly enlightened on hearing the speeches of learned scholars, especially Dr. Hassan Taha. He said that he learnt a lot about Islam after coming to Kuwait only. He explained exquisitely how one can surrender to God and sacrifice everything for Him. He said by understanding and following the faith, Mercy will come then only we all can live in harmony and peace. He requested to the audience to avoid the negative comments on Islam (Islamophobia) or any other religion, which is circulated on social media. He further asked the audience to remove misunderstanding by joining such events or being in touch with the right scholars. Once again, he thanked The Indian Muslims Association (IMA) Kuwait for this magnificent gathering. Dr. Abdul Hakeem presided over this event. Many other dignitaries from various organizations attended and supported the event. Among the dignitaries were Mr. Khaled Al Sabah (Director of IPC), Mr Abdullah Al Hudaib a representative from Social Reform Society Kuwait, Mr. Mohammed Ali and Mr Ibrahim Fargalli, representatives of the ministry of Awqaaf and Islamic Affairs Kuwait, and H.E Mrs Halima A. Mohamud, the Ambassador in Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, made the event more memorable by their gracious presence. Indian Muslims Association (IMA)organized this “Interfaith gathering” to eliminate the misunderstandings about Islam and The Prophet Muhammed PBUH and to curb down the Islamophobia among people of different faith. This program was attended by 100-110 people from different faiths & Religion. The program started with the recitation of Quranic verses # 104 to 108 of Surah Al Anbiyaa by Mr. Saifuddin. A quiz competition was conducted before conclusion, based on the contents delivered by the speakers in their speeches about the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Most of the audiences participated actively and instant prizes were given to them upon answering the correct answers. Mr. Sharfuddin Soofi (Vice president IMA), thanked Allah (SWT) and all the speakers and the dignitaries present in event and the audiences as well. He concluded his address by quoting four important Quotes from Prophet Muhammad (SAW) like (1) To spread Salutation of peace (“as-Salam-u-‘Alaikum”), (2) Feed the Hungry, (3) Develop strong ties with Families, (4) Wake up early for praying to develop strong connections with Allah / God. IMA Kuwait is an Indian socio-religious organization in Kuwait which carries out its various activities under the patronage of “Ministry of Awqaaf” & “Islamic Affairs”, Kuwait. IMA always focusses to provide platform for enhancement of expatriates living in Kuwait for their spiritual & social aspect through various programs & webinars. It looks forward for organizing various beneficial programs in future, considering the occasions and requirements of expatriates in general and specifically Indian community. Finally, the program came to an end with the felicitations of the speakers, all the guests and attendees. Dinner with various cuisine (vegetarian & non vegetarian foods) was served to all attendees. May Allah showers His blessing and mercy upon all of us by guiding us towards the right path shown by His last messenger, the holy prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to mankind. Aamin.
