IMA hosts Children FEST 2019
Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait under the patronage of IPC Kuwait organized a vibrant Children Fest event on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the premises of Indian Community School Kuwait (ICSK), Junior Branch Salmiyah.
IMA Kuwait besides its activities among elders and youth also patronizes a Children’s Circle aiming to equip the budding children with knowledge and worldly skills required to make the future generation a complete human being. IMA also aims to keep the young ones mentally and physically fit and helps them excel in their academics through team building and creative problem-solving techniques, while fostering compassion towards one another and respect for their elders, society and country.
The event primary focused on unleashing hidden talent of the children in different fields and thereupon providing those with a platform to show case their skills. Children of various age groups were encouraged and motivated to present their talents before the mass audience.
The Fest received an overwhelming response from the Indian student’s community. More than 450 children participated in the event.
Several competitions such as recitation of pre-selected chapters from the Holy Quran, elocution, Nasheed recitation, Athaan, Fancy dress, Quiz, drawing and painting, were held in parallel between 1:30 pm to 4.30 pm.
The Fest had a section for carnival games organized in the venue premises to keep the momentum of the children and the accompanied parents.
Little children further made the event colorful and brought delight to the eyes through their fabulous presented costumes in the fancy dress competition.
There was a very interesting quiz competition, which was conducted before the event conclusion. It contained the traditional question-answer round followed by an audio-visual round.
The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony to reward and encourage the winners of all the competitions.
Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Honorable Secretary (Political and Commerce) from the Embassy of India, Kuwait was the chief guest of the event. Further, there were guests Mr. Shaikh Khalid Saba from IPC, and Mr. Shaikh Abdullah Al Hudaib from Jamiat Al- Islah.
IMA thanked and felicitated Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman, Honorable chairperson ICSK, and Mr. Aamir Mohammad, Honorable Secretary to the Board of Trustees ICSK, for their valuable support in providing the school premises to conduct the event smoothly.
Indian Muslim Association Kuwait, under the patronage of ministry of Awqaaf and IPC Kuwait, organized “Seeartun Nabi (Peace be upon Him) Program” in Masjid -e – Adsani Maliya.
Speaking to a gathering of 600, in his inaugural speech on topic “Dawat e Deen in the light of Seerat or life of Prophet Muhammad SAW” Moulana Masood Shahab said that the life and character of Prophet Muhammad SAW teaches and guides them how they could play an effective role in the field of Dawah as a Preacher and Dayee. Moulana Masood Shahab emphasized that biography of Prophet Muhammad SAW tells that they should not get disheartened and disappointed with unfavorable, stiff and difficult circumstances and challenges of time. He added that they should stand courageously with firm determination then only Allah would make the things easy and bless them with success. Moulana also highlighted example of our Prophet’s SAWS visit to valley of Taif and His patience and determination, though the people hooted him, through the alley-ways pelted him with stones and obliged him to flee from the city pursued by a relentless rabble. Blood flowed down both his legs. Allah, the Almighty, sent the Angel of mountains, who sought permission to bury Taif valley between Al-Akhshabain, the two mountains flanking Taif, Prophet SAWS said in reply that He would rather have someone from their loins who would worship Allah, the All–Mighty with no associate”.
Guest Speaker Mr. Mohammad Ali on behalf of Ministry of Awkaf & Islamic Affairs and Masjid Al Kabeer spoke few words on Seerah that Prophet Muhammad SAW was a رحمة للعالمين (Benefactor of humanity) a gift and mercy for the whole mankind.
Maulana Khaja Arifuddin Sb a special guest from India threw light on life of Prophet Muhammad SAW and said that the first person who accepted Islam was a woman and that was the first Lady, Bibi Khadeeja.
Hafiz Hafizur Rahman Sb delivered a very thought JCB provoking speech on the topic وما أرسلنك الا رحمة للعالمين ( We have sent you as “Benefactor of the universe”). He emphasized that Prophet Muhammad SAW is a benefactor for the whole mankind. He advised the audience that they should adopt and produce the same quality of tolerance and mercy which Prophet Muhammad SAW had practiced throughout his life to restore and maintain peace in this world. He added that they need to go through the self-accountability process whether they were following Prophet Muhammad. If not then they have to look in to their character before going to invite the others communities towards the peace and Islam. He predicted that this Ummat, Muslims, can play its role of leadership once again only if they practically follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW in their lives. He stressed that biography of Prophet SAWS is not to be studied merely as history but to absorb the character of Prophet SAWS in themselves then only they can convey mankind, the message of peace in this world and success in life hereafter.
He recommended the audience to bring a change in their lives; in words and actions and to get united to overcome the present critical situation, the whole Ummah is going through.
Mr Shamvil Pervez , President of IMA Kuwait, in his concluding speech, thanked Allah for giving an opportunity to assemble and hear few aspects and pages from Biography of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his teachings. He concluded his speech with Quranic verse
كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ( سورة آل عمران )
You are now the best people brought forth for (the guidance and reform of) mankind.88 You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. (3-110)
He accentuated that real duty of Muslims on this earth is to play the role being described in the verse as a preacher.
IMA Hosts public lectures on Hijra New Year
Indian Muslim Association (IMA-Kuwait) Under the patronage of Community section Ministry of Awqaf -Kuwait organized two public lectures on Hijra New Year in Salmiya and Abo Halifa. Mr. Mohammed Ali, head of Jaliyath, Masjid Al-Kabir was the guest of honor at Salmiya event. He praised the activities of IMA and said that true message of Hijrah is about achieving success through hard work and determination.
In event held at Masjid Al Muzaini in Salmiya, Mr. Nisar Ahmed was the keynote speaker of the event. He talked on the topic “You will be successful if you are a true believer!”. He said that, Muslims should lead a life with an example, Be Truthful; keep your promises; never ever lie; Be trustworthy, don’t cheat or misappropriate; Be Just and stand up for the justice; Be a hard worker, don’t set your eyes on easy money. This is the basic tenant of Islam for a true believer, when we do this, Allah will surely make us successful both in this world and hereafter.
Mr. Sharafuddin Soofi, second keynote speaker of the day spoke on the topic “Message of Hijrah”, While elaborating on the subject Mr. Soofi, Vice President of IMA said that the objective of Hijra was to establish a society based on Islamic principles. He further stated, “The entire event of migration of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gives innumerable lessons to the Muslim community.
The Program was convened by Mr. Khazi Zafar. Dinner packets were distributed at the end of the program. The Program started with the recitation of the verses from the holy Quran by Master Aburahman. The event was a joint effort from Salmiya, Kuwait City, Khaitan and Abbasiya Units.
Second Hijrah event was held at Masjid Maryam Al-Dukhan in Abu Halifa which was organized by Abu Halifa and Fahaheel units.
Shamvel Parvez, President, IMA Kuwait and Shaikh Waleed Umri were keynote speakers of the day. Mr. Shamvel Parvez gave a thought provoking speech on the topic “You will be successful if you are a true believer!”, During his talk, he spoke about the importance of living a life which is in sync with Islamic teachings. He said, when we do that, definitely Allah will make us successful. Shaikh Waleed Umri spoke on the topic “Message of Hijrah” where he highlighted the struggle of Prophet Muhammed ﷺ in Makkah and how he over came with a well thought out plan and decided to migrate to establish a just society in Madina.
The Program was convened by Mr. Parvez Hanif. Dinner packets were distributed at the end of the program.
IMA concludes two months long Summer Islamic Classes
Under the patronage of Islamic Presentation Committee (IPC), Indian Muslim Association Kuwait (IMA) successfully completed two-months long summer Islamic classes. More than 150 students; boys and girls of different ages and nationalities joined the courses. They spent their vacation in the most productive way which was to seek Islamic knowledge; Quran, Hadeeth, Seeratun Nabi and seerah of His Companions, Islamic fundamentals, ethics and moral.
The students successfully enjoyed many fun-filled activities every week such as salad making, sandwich making, cupcake decoration, best out of waste etc. A Powerpoint presentation was also organised on “dental and oral hygiene”.
A full day educational tour to Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre was also arranged. All students enjoyed the tour.
Camp concluding program was organized by the combined efforts of teachers and students to present the achievements of SIC in a nutshell.
This program was started with Recitation of Quranic verses and Translation by Grade 4 girls. Selected Students from each grade presented briefly the topics they learnt in each subject. Topics such as “Importance of Aqeedah” and “Importance of Seerah” were presented by senior girls. This was followed by the recitation of Hadeeth by KG girls who had diligently memorized the Arabic text with translation.
Each section was alternated by melodious nasheeds sung by the young students.
IMA also conducted a “Parent Teacher meeting” where parents had opportunity to interact with teachers and get first hand feedback of their ward about the progress. Part of the meeting was “a presentation on Parenting” by Mr. Sharafuddin Soofi, an Eminent Speaker and presenter. He spoke about importance of parenting.
At the end parents interacted with the speaker on various parenting issues.

IMA also announced that it is arranging “three months long weekend Urdu classes” very soon for all men, women and children . The classes will commence from the month of Oct 2019 in Salmiya block 10. Interested expats can contact IMA at 6603 7944.
IMA Conducts Jalsa-e-Youm Al-Arafah
Renowned Islamic Scholars delivered speeches on various topics such as “Importance of the Day of Arafa”, “objectives of Hajj”, “The message Eid ul Adha” and the Farewell Sermon of our Prophet SAWS.
It was emphasized to the public that The Day of Arafah, the 9th of Dhu al Hajja, is a very sacred day and Is the second day of the Hajj. It is a recommended sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) for those who are not performing Hajj to fast on this day and it expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.
Separate arrangements for ladies were made to accommodate families. Snacks were served at the end.
Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Children Circle Unit, Kuwait conducted its first Children’s Iftar at several locations across Kuwait
, (Salmiya, Abbasiya, and Fahaheel) during the month of May. The events witnessed an overwhelming response with around 200 children combined from all 3 locations.
It was a humble attempt by the IMA, Kuwait to boost the morale of the little children who were fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. The importance of this auspicious month and The Holy Quran was emphasized to the children. Children were encouraged to strengthen their relation with The Quran.
Various activities were conducted such as Quran memorization, story narration of Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him), and further followed by quiz competition. A brief message was passed to the children on the importance of charity in Islam which leads to welfare of human society.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the quiz competition and Quran memorization competition.
Charity boxes were distributed amongst the children in an attempt to inculcate in them, the habit of sharing and caring for the poor and the needy.
The event was finally concluded with a short iftar, followed by Maghrib prayer and dinner.
Event coordinators also took this opportunity to inform the children about the IMA Children Circle monthly classes which will be conducted in different zones wherein children will be taught various Islamic as well as general life skill activities.
Children attended the event with great enthusiasm and with a commitment to continue attending future events of Children Circle.
IMA CONDUCTS INTERFAITH IFTAR AT FAHAHEEL ZONE
Indian Muslim Association Kuwait (IMA) recently conducted an interfaith Iftar get-together for expatriates of all faith to promulgate the message of Ramadan at Dhoom Hall, Abu Halifa. Large number of people from different walks of life attended and appreciated the program.
Jafar Sadik, General Secretary IMA presided over the function. Dr Teresa Lesher, Manager TIES center Kuwait was the chief guest of the occasion.
Guest speaker Venkata Siva Rao Koduri, President Life Again, Kuwait chapter appreciated the activities of IMA. He emphasized that fasting should not be limited to refraining from food, one must also refrain from evil & develop respect for each other’s faith. Vinay Muthyala, President, Telengana Jagruthi Kuwait, commended IMA’s social & environmental activities like beach cleaning & tree plantation. He was of the opinion that it’s very important to learn each other’s faith. Dr Ananthi Natarajan, President, Frontliners Association & Sai Devata, Chairman, Institute of Charted Accountants of India, Kuwait chapter also graced the occasion and commended IMA’s initiative for such programs.
Chief Guest of the evening Dr Teresa Lesher, in her address, stressed on the importance of focusing on the similarities between different faiths rather than the differences. She said the Quran calls people to focus on the similarities. Nisar Ahmad gave a presentation on the topic ‘Ramadan: A time for Reflection’ highlighting the importance of Ramadan and the Holy Quran. He explained some important topics of Quran such as the purpose of creation, purpose of our life and elaborated on how Quran can guide us in strengthening our relationship with our creator. He mentioned that the Quran was sent down in the month of Ramadan for the guidance of entire mankind. Quran is not a book of Muslims but it is for all the people. He encouraged people to read this book for guidance.
Keynote Speaker, Sharfuddin Soofi, speaking on the topic ‘Way to communal harmony’ emphasized on the importance of unity in diversity
which helps people in building harmony in a multi-cultural society such as India, where people are from different religions, castes and ethnicity are living together since centuries. He emphasized that the majority of citizens are peace loving people, it’s our duty to defeat the small group that are promoting hatred.
An interactive quiz on “the Quran and Islam” was also conducted by the convener during the program. Participants on correct answers got gifts. A book stall was also organized to distribute Quran and other Islamic Literature. Many guests collected a copy of “The Glorious Quran” to study it.
The program started with recitation of verses from “The Glorious Quran” by Mohammad Abdul Rahman Munawwar. Muazaffar Deshmukh, convener of the program introduced IMA and its activities. Danish Yaseen Bangi presented vote of thanks. Program ended with Iftar and buffet dinner.
