Quran Campaign: The Character of Prophet Muhammad PBUH was the Quran
Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait is pleased to inform that it is going to launch a full month Quran Campaign in Kuwait starting from 26th Dec 2024 to 23rd Jan 2025 under it’s central theme “كان خُلُقُه القرآنُ The Character of Prophet Muhammad PBUH was the Quran”.
Its inaugural ceremony will be held at Unit level on 26th Dec 2024 in all parts of Quran with a mega concluding program on 24th Jan 2025 at central level in Kuwait.
Below are some highlights and roadmap for this campaign shedding more lights on it.
Campaign Objectives
1. To connect Muslims with the Quran and encourage them to read it.
2. To promote correct recitation of the Quran.
3. To emphasize understanding the Quran.
4. To instill a desire to act upon Quranic teachings.
5. To spread Quranic teachings to the community.

IMA conducts Beach Cleaning Event in coordination with other Associations
In a commendable display of community collaboration & environmental stewardship, Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait joined hands with KCWA, UPNRI, Maharashtra Mandal Associations & Kuwait Diving Team to organize a Beach Cleaning Event on 8th Dec 2023 at Shuwaikh Beach. The Event aimed to promote Environmental Awareness & Contribute to the conservation of Kuwait’s pristine coastal areas.
The Event saw active participation from members of various associations, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility. Volunteers from Indian Muslim Association, KCWA, UPNRI, Maharashtra Mandal Associations & Kuwait Diving Team worked together side by side to ensure safe & successful accomplishment of the entire event.
Event marked the participation of around 300 plus people that included very enthusiastic families, ladies, kids, elderly who dedicated their time and efforts to clean up the beach, removing litter and debris that pose a threat to marine life and ecosystems.
The Event was inaugurated by the recitation of Holy Quran followed by short speeches by the Presidents of All Associations, Chief Guest & the Event Mentor as well.
Mr Umar Falahi, IMA President, emphasized on the importance of Environmental Cleanliness & Safety in Islam quoting sources from Quran & Hadith, thanked all Participants & Associations for their support and expressed dua for a fast and speedy recovery of H.H Ameer of Kuwait.
Mr Naveen Mascarenhas, President of KCWA after a short introduction of KCWA welfare activities in Kuwait, thanked IMA Kuwait for providing such a platform & opportunity to conduct a joint venture program.
Mr Shafaq Mumtaz – Treasurer UPNRI spoke on the importance of the Event & stressed that UPNRI Forum Kuwait is always there on forefront to be the part of such Events to conduct a variety of human welfare programs.
Mr Abdullah Al Hudaib, Event Chief Guest – representing Jamiatul Islah spoke on the various human welfare projects the Association supports & congratulated all Associations for this impactful initiative.
Mr Hamed Al Fadhil –Event Mentor representing Kuwait Diving Team educated the audience on the importance of Beach Cleaning Drives & provided general guidelines on the day’s activities.
Memento was presented to KDT Mr Hamed Al Fadhil by Presidents by All Associations – in appreciation for their support to the Event.
Mr Abdul Musauvir conducted the session & thanked Presidents & Chief Guest, KDT & all participants on behalf of IMA Kuwait.
KDT & their Staff provided participants with necessary Kit & Accessories required for Beach Cleaning & guided on entire field work.
Certificates of Appreciation, acknowledged by all partner Associations, were issued to all Participants after the Event.
KCWA team arranged tea for all participants while Al Faisal Bakery sponsored snacks distributed among the kids at the end.

IMA Kuwait Conducts A Career Guidance & Felicitation Event
IMA Kuwait English Unit organized a Career Guidance and Felicitation Event at ICSK Senior Branch Salmiya on 8th June 2023. The event aimed to provide valuable insights and guidance to young students as they embark on their educational and professional journeys. Students and parents from various parts of Kuwait participated in the event.
Mr. Abdullah Thakur one of the key speakers, provided a unique perspective on how the students should plan their future careers well in advance. He further highlighted the challenges and hurdles faced by students and parents these days and offered strategies to overcome them.
Dr. Navjot Kaur another keynote speaker, focused on the emotional needs of children in today’s world. She stressed on an in-depth analysis of how parents can nurture and enhance their children’s emotional and psychological intelligence while they pursue their education. A Q&A session followed, allowing parents and students to actively engage with the speakers and seek guidance.
IMA Vice President Mr. Arshad Habib along with former president Mr. Masood Shahab presented Mementos to key note Speakers acknowledging their invaluable contributions in this field.
Br Fahim Patel delivered a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers, participating parents, students, school faculties, ICSK authority, representatives from various associations and all IMA members for their generous support which made the program a success.
Dinner Packets were served at the end of program, Children Snacks were sponsored by Al Faysal Bakery & Water bottles were sponsored by Malabar Gold. IMA thanks wholeheartedly for their ever support to our programs.

IMA Conducts Arafat Day Gatherings In Kuwait
IMA Kuwait conducts a series of events and programs known as Arafat Day Gatherings successfully between 23 to 26 June 2023 in various mosques of Kuwait, commemorating the holy month of Dhul Hijjah, also known as the Month of Sacrifice and Hajj.
The Arafat Day Gatherings were held in different mosques in Kuwait, located in Khaitan, Farwaniya, Abbasiya, Salmiya, Mahboula, and Fahaheel areas, attended by hundreds of people. Separate arrangements were made to accommodate families and to provide them a comfortable environment during the programs.
Different Renowned Scholars and Khateeb in Kuwait graced these gatherings and delivered their insightful speeches on a range of different topics related to the significance of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, Arafat Day, the purpose of sacrifices, the objectives and message of Hajj and Qurbani (sacrifice), the message of Eid Al-Adha, and the farewell sermon of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Maulana Waleed Umri,, one of the renowned Khateeb in Kuwait, while delivering his speech in Fahaheel during the Friday Urdu Khutba, highlighted the virtues of sacrifices in Islam through the life of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Mr. Sharafudin Soofi, another key note speaker and Khateeb while addressing a gathering in Maryam Masjid in Mahboula discussed in details about the legacy and life of Ibrahim (AS) highlighting that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) is a complete role model for the whole human beings all around the world, followed by a session of a question & answers session moderated by IMA President Maulana Mohammad Umar Falahi.
Mr. Nisar Ahmed, a motivational speaker addressed two different Arafat Day gatherings held in Masjid Al Mailem Khaitan and Yousuf Al Adsani in Maliya in two different dates, emphasizing the virtues of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and Arafat Day, as well as the message of Hajj and Qurbani.
Mr. Masood Shahab and Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Falahi, another two noted Khateeb and speakers delivered their thought-provoking speeches, addressing a remarkable gatherings at Masjid Bilqis-Abbasiya and Masjid Al Mailam-Farwaniya Police Station at roundabout respectively. Both speakers enlightened the audience on the significance and the importance of the Arafat Day in Islam.
IMA Kuwait organized separate Kids Islamic programs simultaneously in different mosques of Kuwait, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for young attendees. At the end of each gathering, dinner packets were served, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.

A Felicitation function of IMA Summer Islamic classes (SIC) 2018
Indian Muslim Association (IMA) in coordination with the Islam Presentation committee of Kuwait conducted a Felicitation function for the Sumer Islamic classes (SIC) 2018 on Friday 16th November 2018 at ICSK, Senior Branch Auditorium, Salmiya. The event received an overwhelming response as the venue was Completely packed with parents and children attending the program.
The program commenced with the recitation of Quran by Master Mohammed Ashfaque.
Chairman of ICSK, Abdul Rahman Shaikh graced the function by his presence and encouraging words and assured the audience for his all-out support for the Educational Activities.
IMA President Masood Shahab spoke over Islamic Education & said it’s values bring change in our children to shape their lives.
The Vice President of IMA Sharafuddin Soofi gave a presentation on the topic “’Responsible parents and dutiful children’ which was very well appreciated by the Audience.
The principal of Summer Islamic classes Shamvil Parvez delivered a speech where he informed on the initiative taken by eminent persons of IMA like former President Khaleelullah Khan who started SIC in 1994 and thereafter the classes are running successfully for 17 years. The response was overwhelming with total 210 students attended the classes The students were also taken for field trip to Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre. IMA is thankful to ICSK management for providing their school premises for the noble cause. Finally special thanks to IPC, Masjid Al Kabir and Ministry of Awqaf who always grant their support to IMA.
There were excellent Children stage performance namely Islamic songs on models of Islamic heroes thru narration of Ahadees, and Islamic Golden era of scientific inventions by act play. The function concluded with a school tarana from all boys and girls. It was followed by prize distribution and certificates to the successful students.
Khazi Zafar pleasantly convened the Program with excerpts from Urdu poetry and Mr. Ishtiaq Shaikh .
KMWA Organized Family Convention
Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA), a subsidiary of Indian Muslim Association recently organized a family convention at Indian Model School in Salmiya. The convention was intended as an educational program organized in commemoration of completion of 25 years of service to the community by IMA in Kuwait.
Attending as chief guest Abdullah Thakur CEO and founder of Al Dhow Capital, Kuwait spoke on the topic ‘What after 10th & 12th’. His presentation was on guiding parents and students in choosing appropriate career depending on skills, available job sectors and the place where they choose to work. He also highlighted various employment sectors, which should be targeted for jobs in India and Kuwait.
Second presentation was by Sharafuddin Soofi on the topic ‘Hints for happy family’. He explained 25 ingredients for happy family life comprising of parenting skills, responsibilities of spouses and qualities of successful students and general requisites to lead happy family life.
IMA president Masood Shahab in his concluding remarks gave brief idea about upcoming grand conference of IMA at Grand Mosque of Kuwait on 30 November 2018. He also presented Memento to the guest speaker Abdullah Thakur and appreciated successful program organized by KMWA.
The program started with the recitation of few verses of holy Quran by Master Nisar Fahimuddin followed by an Introduction of KMWA by its President Abdul Naser Khan. The convener of the program Mr. Minhajuddin Sharafuddin also gave vote of thanks. Large number of families benefited from this program
IMA TREE PLANTATION DRIVE
Indian Muslim Association, IMA, Kuwait has reached another milestone of planting 500 plants in desert of Kuwait at Al Nuwaiseb. A mammoth gathering of 325 Indian expats, ladies, gents and children, took part in “Tree Plantation Drive, a “Desert Greening Program”. This event was organized jointly with *Kuwait Oasis*. A new “Waterboxx®plant technology” was used. On this occasion a part of Al Nuwaiseb Desert was transformed into a fascinating green land with the charm of all the age-groups working in order to make the desert green.
IMA, in commemoration of completion of its 25 years, has organized the event in continuation to many other major events like Blood Donation camp, Beach Cleaning Drive, Mushaera (Kavi Sammelan) and Children Fest where extra curriculum activities and competitions like recitation of Qur’an (Qira’at), Adhaan (Prayer Call), Essay Writing, Elocution, Painting, indoor games for school students were conducted.
The event started at 2.15 pm after the lunch which was graced with the presence of IMA Executives Mohammed Hasan,Iqbal Abdullatif,Mushtaq Mahdi,Salam Madi & Wasif Hashmi.Also present at the location were Khaled Al-Kulaib (Founder of Kuwait Oasis) & Zahid Thakur (General Secretary ASSP).
The event moved with the recitation of holy Quran by Mr. Salam Madi followed by Mr. Mushtaq Mehdi gave a motivational speech on our responsibilities towards to the nature in light of Quran and Hadeeth. In his speech he said that, “Islam says that if there is any last dead to be done before the day of judgment, it is to plant a tree”. Khaled Al-Kulaib on behalf of Kuwait Oasis appreciated the efforts of IMA to promote goodness.
A memento was presented to Khaled Al-Kulaib by Mohammed Hasan and to Mr. Zahid Thakur by Iqbal Abdullateef. “The Tree Plantation drive” in the desert flavored as a family day out which kept the participants engrossed throughout the day with sense of personal responsibility to the nature. More than 100 gifts and books were distributed to the children and their parents
IMA Beach Cleaning Drive
Indian Muslim Association – Khaitan, Kuwait City and Salmiya units organized a beach-cleaning event on 2nd November 2018 besides Kuwait Tower at 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Although the said event was organized by IMA in commemoration with its completion of 25 years in Kuwait however, IMA strongly believes and periodically instigates such events to inspire and empower communities to clean up and conserve the environment. Beach cleaning event is organized with the intention to make sure the beaches are kept pristine; the endeavor aims to stave off pollution caused by waste that could sully the bay & distort the fish habitat.
The beach cleaning event was organized in cooperation with Kuwait Dive team that provides full support to the event. The event was even attended by the representatives, Mr. Yousef Eissa Al Shuwaib (Head of community section) from Ministry of Awqaf and Mr. Abdullah Al Hudaib representative from Al Islah community Center.
The event commenced with an introductory speech from Mr. Walid Al Shatti from Kuwait Dive Team. He abridged the volunteers on the process of beach cleaning, the kind of precautions needs to be taken and the nature of sewage & wastage to be collected (including bags and cans).
Mr. Al Shuwaib in his introductory lines praised for IMA’s efforts and highlighted the importance of Cleanliness and adherence by all communities in Kuwait to contribute to this Cause to keep Kuwaiti beaches Clean.
The acting IMA president, Br Shamvil Parvez, elaborated the importance of Cleanliness in Islam referencing quranic verses and hadith on Purity. Islam has given so much importance to cleanliness as it is considered a part of faith.
The campaign witnessed the participation of IMA members, their family’s including women and children and well wishers from the community. Almost 200 volunteers participated in the event.
Prior to the actual cleaning work, the basic cleaning material were provided to the volunteers such as hand gloves and big plastic bags.
IMA volunteers took the pleasure in what was set out to do and what they were doing. Within an hour, the garbage bags were filled with sewage and wastages, broken bottles, glass, cigarette butts, sharp metals, paper, remains of foodstuff. At the end the amount
of garbage retrieved from a relatively small portion of the beach, about 500 m long, was astonishing. After the collection of trash in more than 100 bags, many relaxed and enjoyed at Kuwait tower spot. All volunteers were served with tea and refreshments sponsored from Kuwait Flour Mills. A beautiful memento was presented to the representatives from Kuwait Dive team, Ministry of Awqaf and Jamiah Al islah.
